Introducing our Tungsten Carbide File Guide - the perfect tool for knifemakers, fabricators, fitter & turners, and machinists. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned professional, this file guide is easy to use and will provide exceptional accuracy and precision when grinding and filing straight and flat edges. Crafted from premium quality tungsten carbide material, our file guide features a tungsten carbide platen that is the thickest on the market at 5mm thickness. This ensures that the platen is durable and long-lasting, making it a wise investment for your workshop. Additionally, the tungsten carbide platen is specifically designed to be wear-resistant against contact with ceramic grinding belts, making it the ideal choice for use against ceramic belt grinders. The internal width between bolts is 85mm and can clamp materials up to 30mm thick, giving you ample flexibility to work with various materials. Whether you're grinding or filing, this tungsten carbide file guide is designed to make your work easier and more efficient, allowing you to achieve exceptional results every time. Try it out today and experience the difference for yourself! With our tungsten carbide file guide, you can enjoy the benefits of a tool that features a 5mm thick tungsten carbide platen, which is both durable and wear-resistant against ceramic grinding belts.

Like another reviewer, I noticed that the carbide was bowed. It had flexed due to two set screws pressing (quite hard) upon the carbide bars to hold them in place. So, I removed the set screws and eased the carbide bars out and cleaned up the surfaces of any residual oils. I have then simply glued the carbide into place with a “filled” epoxy (JB Weld). This allows the carbide to relax and return to a good, flat surface. As is, the assembly quite square now. It’s certainly precise enough for a file guide. As they inevitably wear with use, one could simply put a new surface on the carbide with a diamond abrasive plate (don’t breathe carbide dust in). I will eventually be using my surface grinder to get the assembly very flat, but that’s absolutely overkill. So, for the price, I now have a good-sized file guide that will last me for years. I can’t make these for the money I have spent on them because my shop time is precious. I highly recommend this product, as long as one understands that a few minutes of preparation is all that’s needed to net you a high quality product.
